The Delaware Institute for Local Government Leaders (DILGL) was held November 3, 2022 at the Maple Dale Country Club in Dover. The event featured two panels that presented statewide and local government perspectives and solutions on workforce challenges. The first group of presenters included Delaware Prosperity Partnership Director of Talent Acquisition Charles Madden, Kent Economic Partnership Executive Director Linda Parkowski, and Delaware State Chamber Executive Director and City of New Castle Mayor Michael Quaranta. The second panel featured Town of Millsboro Manager Jamie Burk, City of Newark Chief Human Resources Officer Devan Hardin, City of Milford Human Resources Director Jamesha Williams, Town of Elsmere Administrative Assistant Linda Sommermann.
DILGL is presented annually in collaboration with the Delaware League of Local Governments, Institute for Public Administration (IPA) at the University of Delaware (UD), and UD Sustainable Coastal Communities. DILGL is part of IPA's program that will qualify participants to receive a Certificate in Local Governance Leadership. During the event, IPA awards those who receive local government training certificates.
